Rangers, Lady Rangers both on the road Saturday
The Kilgore College men's basketball team will travel to Tyler Junior College's Wagstaff Gym Saturday, Jan. 27, to face a red-hot Apache team, while the Lady Rangers will make the trek to Jacksonville to face the Lady Jaguars who are looking for their first conference win of the season.
The Lady Rangers will face Jacksonville at 2 p.m. while the men will tip-off against TJC in Tyler at 4 p.m.
The Rangers and Lady Rangers tangled with conference oppents in a home double-header at the friendly confines of Masters Gym on Wednesday, Jan. 24. The ladies routed Panola College, 72-52, while the men gave up a second-half lead to lose to an extremely talented Panola College squad ranked No 15 in the NJCAA, 67-60.
The Lady Rangers (10-8, 3-1) are in third place in R14 standings behind Blinn and Angelina College (both sitting at 4-1 in conference play). They are just ahead of the Trinity Valley women who are 3-2 in conference play with losses to Angelina and Blinn.
The KC men, under first-year head coach Robert Byrd, sit at 14-6 overall and 4-5 in Region 14 action. They are in sixth place in the North Division of R14.
