Rangers knock off No. 3 seed Blinn in last-second thriller

TYLER, TX: Michael Miller grabbed a rebound from a missed three-pointer and scored off the glass with half a second left to lift the Rangers over No. 3 seed Blinn, 64-62. at Wagstaff Gym in the quarterfinals of the Region 14 tournament.

Kilgore trailed by seven points at the break, but opened up the second half with a 17-2 run.

KC's DaVeon Thomas was almost flawless, scoring 26 points with nine rebounds, four assists, three steals and a block.

Other players scoring for KC were Joe Manning (8), Miller (7), Dorian Benford (6), Julian Keitt (5) -- and Tyree Davis, Kingsley Ijeoma and Terrance Dixon each scoring four points each.

Blinn had two players in double figures with Elijah Elliott (13) and Marco Foster (12).

With the loss, Blinn finishes its season with a 23-8 record.

KC improves to 21-10 and will face No. 2 seed Panola College at 8 p.m. Friday, March 10, back at Wagstaff Gymnasium.
