Rangers get big second half to defeat Paris

Kilgore College was only ahead by two points at halftime, but a second half burst earned the Rangers a 72-53 victory Feb. 4 at Masters Gymnasium.

The Rangers scored almost twice as many points as the Dragons in the second half, outscoring Paris 37-20 in the second stanza.

Part of that momentum was because of Joe Manning who scored a career-high 18 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and had 5 assists.

Dorian Benford came off the bench for KC to make an impressive defensive effort with six blocks. He also scored 10 points and had four rebounds.

Isaac Hoberecht and Tyree Davis each scored nine points.  Hoberecht had three assists, one steal and two rebounds. Davis came off the bench to add three steals, one assist and seven rebounds.

Paris had two players in double figures with Jaylen Wysinger leading the way (16 points) and Ronald Holmes (11).

With the loss, Paris drops to 9-14 overall and 5-7 in Region XIV play. KC improves to 16-7 overall and 8-5 in conference games.
